Who is responsible

PayCompass operates this website and is the controller for the limited personal information described in this notice. Contact us at hello@paycompass.co.uk.

Calculator inputs

Salary, pension, tax code and loan calculations run locally. We do not send these inputs or results to a calculation server or to analytics.

Shared links

Copy link puts your selected inputs in the URL fragment, after the # symbol. That fragment is not sent in the page request.

Anyone receiving the full link can read those details. Share it only with people you choose. Avoid putting personal information in a page path or query string, which the hosting service can receive.

Hosting and access logs

The hosting service receives technical information such as IP addresses, request paths and browser details when you request a page. The calculator fragment is excluded from those requests.

We rely on legitimate interests to process these logs so we can run and secure the site. We do not keep a separate copy of the logs ourselves. Cloudflare may process this information outside the UK when it provides the hosting.

Analytics and advertising

When enabled on our production website, Cloudflare Web Analytics measures page views and page performance to help us improve PayCompass. It uses no cookies or browser storage and does not track individuals across websites. Preview builds do not load it.

We rely on legitimate interests to measure anonymous visits when analytics is enabled.

We do not report salary, tax codes, pension choices, loan details or result amounts to analytics. The beacon removes query strings and URL fragments from reported page and referrer addresses. We do not send custom calculator events.

We do not use analytics for advertising profiles or load advertising scripts. You can turn off anonymous analytics in this browser, without charge. We also respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control.

Contact messages

If you email us, we receive your email address and message. We use these to answer your enquiry. Do not send personal payroll documents.

We rely on legitimate interests to read and reply to your messages. We keep a message only as long as we need it to respond, then delete it. We may read and reply from outside the UK.
